The spotlights are shining, the Viennese Waltz demands full stamina, and the night is long. With the right technique, your festive look will remain flawless until dawn, without fading.
A glamorous ball evening demands a lot from your skin. Spotlight, the heat in the ballroom, and the physical exertion of dancing can quickly make even a well-applied daytime make-up melt away. This is where the crucial difference to an everyday look lies: a real ball make-up requires strategic layering and special textures to withstand the heat. At the same time, it differs significantly from extreme tournament dance make-up, which is heavily applied for the distance to the jury and appears mask-like. At a ball, you are in close proximity to other guests. The goal is therefore a flawless, elegant complexion that looks sophisticated from up close and yet defies hours of sweat. A thorough perfect ball preparation therefore begins with the right skincare as a base.

After cleansing, apply a light, fast-absorbing moisturizer. Wait five minutes and then distribute a mattifying primer over your entire face to refine your pores and mattify your skin.
Use a long-lasting, liquid foundation and work it in with a damp sponge in very thin layers. Cover dark circles and redness with a highly pigmented, waterproof concealer.
Apply cream blush and cream bronzer, then blend the transitions softly. Afterwards, apply powder blush and powder bronzer exactly on top to anchor the pigments firmly using the layering principle.
Apply a special eyeshadow base to the entire eyelid. Apply your desired colors and use only waterproof products for your eyeliner and lashes, so they do not smudge while dancing.
Outline your lips with a waterproof lip liner and fill them in completely. Then, apply a kiss-proof, matte liquid lipstick that stays perfectly in place even while eating and drinking.
Dust a thin layer of translucent setting powder onto the T-zone. To finish, spray a professional setting spray from a distance of 30 centimeters in a gentle mist over the entire face.

A primer creates a smooth barrier between your skin and your makeup. It regulates sebum production, refines pores, and ensures that your foundation adheres perfectly without settling into fine lines.
Gently dab shiny areas with blotting paper instead of applying more powder. Too much powder mixes with sweat and quickly looks mask-like or cracked on the dance floor.
Use an eyeshadow base and apply waterproof gel eyeliners or cream eyeshadows, which you then set with powder eyeshadow. This prevents the color from settling unattractively into the crease of your eyelid.
